DAVYD HOOPER
Davyd Hooper, CEO of Top Group, is a successful entrepreneur and business operator in his own right, having launched a number of start-ups as well as developing a strategically positioned network of roadhouses associated with in-house retail stores as well as hospitality venues. Davyd has demonstrated expert knowledge in complex business environments and has an impressive record in achieving milestones ‘on time and on budget’. Davyd has for many years developed a strong commitment to building profitable and sustainable solutions in business development and has been an advocate and member of many forums and initiatives in shaping the role of hydrogen in transforming the transport sector in WA.
His vast experience in both hands-on and leadership roles across a range of industries has resulted in a career of varied experiences, from start-up companies through to the management of a company with $100m of assets.
Current leadership is also supported by a team that includes Angela Hooper as CFO and many site and administration managers, now joined by David Cavanagh who assisted in new partnerships signed up and the multi-billion dollar 20-year supply of green hydrogen from Arrowsmith.
ANGELA HOOPER
Born and raised on a farm in Wagin, WA, Angela was instilled with a solid work ethic and understanding of regional business practices from a very young age. After moving to Perth to study her Bachelor of Tourism and Sociology, she quickly transitioned into business operations management post-graduation where her career has thrived since.
Since partnering up with her husband Davyd, Angela has been at the helm of several different regional businesses as Head of Operations for Top Group. Angela has remotely managed businesses ranging from petrol stations, roadhouses, liquor stores, newsagencies, electronics retail spaces, an art house, busy pub and hotel, café, and laundromats.
Angela is an expert in communication, multi-tasking and directing managing over 50 team members in four regional locations to be effective in their individual roles. As Head of Operations she is responsible for all components of business management including cashflow, accounts, human resources, training and marketing for maximum profitability.
DAVID CAVANAGH
David Cavanagh is a qualified engineer and managing director at energy consultancy Integrated Energy. David Cavanagh’s work in analysing the data to understand the state and national scope of green hydrogen, has paved the way for this exciting venture to gain momentum. With three decades of energy and resources experience across the globe working with major clients in energy, and five years in hydrogen, as well as governments and universities in three countries, David brings the talent to the table to provide the expertise necessary for this work.
His modelling on car and truck movements across Australia demonstrates the potential for a billion dollars of value creation in WA, contributing, not just a viability case for Hydrogen West, but also attracting the interest of WA state government in the opportunities for green hydrogen. David is a recognised technical authority in hydrogen mobility in land, sea and air, and helps write the Australian Standards for hydrogen. Together with the team at Integrated Energy he has developed hydrogen related projects worth more than $30 billion in Asia Pacific and Europe.
JASON KING
Jason joins Hydrogen West as Business Development Manager. He is an experienced and progressive Senior Leader with extensive management and business development experience in streamlining operations and leveraging strategic partnerships, supply chains and large key accounts to drive organisational growth and sustainability.
Jason is a change agent and leader, passionate about embedding transformational change agendas aligned to strategic objectives of the organisation through positive leadership practices, strong employee engagement and creating a high-performance culture. He is passionate about a sustainable future, leaving the world in a better place for his family and is excited to see a future world where hydrogen will improve the way we live and reduce our emissions.
